Nolan Watt
MUSIC PRODUCTION, MIXING/MASTERING, COMPOSITION
Nolan Watt is a music producer, multi instrumentalist and educator from Northern California. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) in 2013 with a double major in film scoring and electronic production/design. His musical voyage started with playing upright/electric bass in various jazz ensembles and big bands, later moving into other genres such as rock, blues, funk and eventually electronic music production.
His main project, Kompass, started in 2019, is focused on producing downtempo, world fusion bass music and DJing ecstatic dances all over North America. He incorporates a variety of flutes into his production such as the bansuri, Armenian duduk, ney and quena.
In addition to mixing & music production, Nolan also worked as a professional gymnastics coach for 10 years helping athletes of all ages reach their goals. Most recently, he was head coach for a mens team working closely with each individual to bring out their individual potential. His eclectic background in coaching, performance, composition, production and formal education, has synthesized a unique and specialized offering - assisting artists from around the globe to bring their music into the world.
Nolan mixed two of my EPs and his work was simply essential to where I am in my career now. The level of professionalism and creativity that he brought to my work was crucial to my landing the label deals that finally started getting my music out in the world. Very simply Nolan helped me get to the next level in my music and for that I’m eternally grateful. Not only did his mixes take my music to a whole new level, but also his insane musical talent and knowledge helped me see what my music could be, which ended up making me a much better producer and mixer. And to top it all he’s just great to work with.
